League Standings (Top 6) Arsenal (26 pts); 2. Manchester United (24 pts); 3. Chelsea (22 pts); 4. Tottenham ( 21 pts); 5. Manchester City (20 pts); 6. Reading (19)

The title race is heating up and it looks like the second half of the season could get chaotic. The fight for a Champions League spot could also end up coming down to the wire. Several mid table teams still have a shot to make a run for a top 3 spot.

Chelsea have now gone two league games in a row without scoring. They tied Brighton 0-0 over the weekend. The tie ends Brighton's 6 game losing streak. Brighton goalie Meg Walsh came up with several big saves to keep them in the game. She also became the first keeper to 500 saves in the league. The good news for Chelsea is they still have either a game or 2 games in hand depending on the team.

United have continued their strong form and have now won 4 in a row. They beat Tottenham 3-0 over the weekend. Goals game from Risa, Ladd, and Galton. The win moves them to second in the standings.

Aston Villa came up with a clutch win as Alisha Lehmann scored in the 90+3 minute to beat Leicester City 2-1. The win could play a big part of keeping them out of the relegation battle for the rest of the season.

Arsenal vs Man.City was an important game when it comes to how the title race could shake out. With Chelsea ending in a draw it gave Arsenal a perfect chance to go up 6 points. City also needed a result in order to try and stay in the title/Champions League race. The game ended 1-1 but it had its drama. Bunny Shaw scored in the 65' for City. Arsenal players thought the play should have been blown dead after the ball hit the ref but she allowed play to continue which led to the goal. Just when City might have thought they won the game Tobin Heath had something to say. Heath came up with a massive goal for Arsenal in the 90+2'.

Upcoming Games:

  • Chelsea vs West Ham (1/26 @ 2 PM ET)

  • Arsenal vs Brighton (1/27 @ 2:30 PM ET)

Lyon took their game down to the wire before getting the game winning goal in the 89'. Mbock Bathy came up huge getting a rebound off a Renard header. Montpellier became the first team to score 2 goals on Lyon this season. A tie would have been massive in the title race between Lyon and PSG.

Guingamp got an important 2-0 win over Issy FF which moved them further away from being in a relegation battle.

PSG got a comfortable 5-0 win over Saint-Étienne who currently sits in 11th place. Katoto scored a hat-trick while Diani got a brace. Dudek got the other goal. We still aren't over the fact that Katoto has scored 101 league goals in 104 games for PSG. The goal that completed the Katoto hat-trick.

The shock of the weekend was that Juventus tied Fiorentina 2-2. Before this tie Juventus had won 36 consecutive league games. Roma scored in the 79' to take a 1-0 lead over Napoli FC. The win keeps them in second place and they currently hold a Champions League spot for next year. The win also moves them to within 6 points of Juventus for the top spot in the standings.

Sassuolo and Milan both won their games 4-0 which keeps things interesting at the top of the table. They continue to put Roma under pressure and will make the fight for a Champions League spot interesting.
