Transfer News:

  • Lieke Martens signs with PSG through the 2025 season. She previously spent 5 years with Barcelona.

  • Lisa Evans signs with West Ham after spending last season on loan with the Hammers. She was previously at Arsenal.

  • Lucy Bronze signs with Barcelona, despite rumors she was headed to the NWSL. She signed a two-year deal until 2024.

  • Jordyn Huitema leaves PSG to sign with OL Reign. The Canadian signed through the 2023 season with an option to extend.

  • Drew Spence is headed to North London. The long time Chelsea player has signed with Tottenham Hotspur until 2024 with an option to add another year.

  • Lineth Beerensteyn has signed with Juventus until 2024. The Dutch international moves too Juventus from Bayern Munich.

  • Jenni Hermoso leaves Spain as a Barcelona legend and is headed to Mexico. She is joining Club Pachuca Femenil of Liga Mix Femenil.

Could the Bay be getting a NWSL Team?

  • Soccer Legends Brandi Chastain, Leslie Osborne, Danielle Slaton, and Aly Wagner announced they are hoping to bring a team to the Bay Area. The four former players are the faces of the bid, which includes investors in business, sports, tech, and more.

  • The NWSL has no plans for expansion in 2023, but 2024 is a possibility.

The Women's Cup is Set

6 Teams. One Stadium. Racing Louisville is set to host the tournament again this summer.

The Women's cup has announced Tottenham and AC Milan as the final two teams in the competition.

They had previously announced that Racing Louisville, OL Reign, Club América Femenil, and Nippon TV Tokyo Verdy Beleza would be taking part in the mini tournament.

The Tournament will take place in Louisville from August 14- August 20.

Equal Pay Around the Globe


Spain and the Netherlands are the most recent National teams to reach equal pay between their women and men's side.

  • The Dutch FA will pay the Women's National team as much as the Men's national team, starting July 1.

  • The Spanish National team announced a 5-year deal that will pay the women and men equal bonuses. The deal includes same % bonuses as the men, image right income, a cut of the sponsorship money, and improved working conditions.



Trivia Answer: C. Kristie Mewis and Christine Sinclair are the only players to have scored a goal in every NWSL season. Sinclair has spent every season with Portland while Mewis has played for 6 different teams.
